La respuesta habitual ser\u00eda: nada. A primera vista, la pol\u00edtica ser\u00eda un dominio indiferente y ajeno al del dise\u00f1o. Mientras la pol\u00edtica debe ocuparse del gobierno de los intereses humanos en funci\u00f3n del bien com\u00fan, el dise\u00f1o, en cambio, se enfocar\u00eda en la forma, en la disposici\u00f3n est\u00e9tica y funcional de las cosas que pueblan el mundo. El territorio de lo pol\u00edtico estar\u00eda poblado por normatividades y valores (libertad, igualdad, tolerancia, etc.), fundando su quehacer en lo que Weber llam\u00f3 \u201cel uso leg\u00edtimo de la fuerza\u201d (Weber, 1944). El campo del dise\u00f1o, por su parte, responder\u00eda al imperio de la necesidad del usuario, abocando sus fuerzas a transformar, creativa y sensiblemente, las materialidades en productos \u00fatiles, usables o decorativos.Es precisamente el divorcio entre pol\u00edtica y el dise\u00f1o, sumamente arraigado en el pensamiento y acci\u00f3n del dise\u00f1o, lo que este dossier busca tematizar y problematizar.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"js-work-more-abstract-untruncated\">What has design to do with politics? The usual answer would be: nothing. At first glimpse, politics would be a realm indifferent and alien to design. While politics must deal with the governing of human interests for the sake of common good, design, instead, would be focused on form, the aesthetic and functional arrangement of the things that populate the world. The realm of the political would be populated by norms and values (liberty, tolerance, etc.), founding its duties on what Weber called \u2018the legitimate use of force\u2019 (Weber, 1944). The field of design, on its part, would respond to the rule of the needs of the user, focusing its forces on transforming, creatively and sensitively, the materialities into useful, usable or decorative products.
